Liberal Democrats
In May 2005 the Liberal Democrats had their best election result
for over 80 years, electing 63 MPs and increasing their national
share of the vote.
There are six Liberal Democrat MPs in the North West: Mark Hunter
(Cheadle), John Pugh (Southport), Andrew Stunell (Hazel Grove),
Paul Rowen (Rochdale), John Leech (Manchester Withington) and Tim
Farron (Westmorland and Lonsdale).
There are a total of twelve Liberal Democrat MEPs in the European
Parliament, representing most regions of the UK.
